Mooresville, NC (July 28, 2014) – TriStar Motorsports is excited to announce that NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Hal Martin will be back behind the wheel of the No. 44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry this weekend at Iowa Speedway. This will be the “Ragin Cajun’s” second start at the 7/8-mile asphalt paved tri-oval speedway.
“It’s an honor to represent American Custom Yachts again this season behind the wheel of the No. 44 Toyota Camry for TriStar Motorsports,” said Hal Martin. “I can’t thank Mark and Kathy Smith enough for giving me another opportunity to drive for them. I am looking to build off of the experience I gained racing at Iowa Speedway earlier this year and hope for a strong finish for both TriStar Motorsports and American Custom Yachts.”

Mooresville, NC (May 7, 2014) – TriStar Motorsports is excited to announce that NASCAR Nationwide Series driver, Hal Martin will be back behind the wheel of the No. 44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry next weekend at Iowa Speedway. Mooresville, NC – October 8, 2013 – Martin and crew of the no.44 ORACLE Lighting Toyota Camry had high hopes entering the Kansas Lottery 300 event. However, colder temperatures, lack of grip in the track, and a loose handling car spelled disaster for Martin’s much anticipated return to Kansas.

“I was really excited to race on this track again. It’s actually one of my favorite tracks on the NASCAR Nationwide series circuit” Martin replied. “My car was handling well for qualifying and we put up a decent lap time. Mooresville, NC- September 10, 2013 – Martin and the crew of the no.44 U.S. Forensic Toyota Camry team had high hopes returning to Richmond International Raceway. However, luck was not on their side. An ill handling car from the start of the race resulted in a disappointing 30th place finish for Martin and crew.

This was the first track in which you’ve made a second start as a NASCAR Nationwide Series driver this year, how was the race for you?
“Disappointing to say the least” Martin replied. “From the drop of the green flag, my car just would not cooperate. We fought an unbalanced car all evening. The car wouldn’t rotate the middle of the corner causing it to be loose off of the corners.”

Comments Off on Early Race Incident Dashed Martin’s Dreams of a Strong Showing in Talladega
Charlotte, NC- May 6, 2012 – It is common knowledge amongst NASCAR drivers, crews and fans alike, anything is possible in superspeedway racing. This was proven evident this weekend, both with unseasonably cold and rain filled weather and with the racing itself. Martin and the crew of the No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry team were optimistic that their newly acquired MWR chassis would have a strong showing at Talladega. Despite qualifying in 32nd position, Martin and crew were able to move into 12th place quickly. Then, on lap 19, Martin received front end damage as he reacted to a spin involving other drivers. His knowledgable crew were able to make repairs in the garage area; however, the repairs cost Martin and crew valuable time on track and resulted in a 34th place finish.
