Charlotte, NC- April 15, 2013 – Spritis were high as Martin traveled back to Texas to make his second career start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Texas Motor Speedway. Qualifying 32nd, Martin had climbed to 25th when a transmission failure forced him and his No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry crew to bring the car to the garage ending his night. Martin finished the race in 38th position.

This was your second time back to Texas Motor Speedway as a NASCAR Nationwide Series driver. How was it?

New Orleans, LA- April 9, 2013 – Following a two week break in the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, Martin and the No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry team prepare to travel to Fort Worth, TX for Martin’s second series start at this track. Martin has competed at Texas Motor Speedway two times previously. In 2006, Martin raced his super late model and received a 12th place finish. In addition, Martin competed at Texas Motor Speedway last fall where he finished 30th following contact with the outside wall in turn two early during the race.

How are you preparing yourself for this upcoming race?

Charlotte, NC- March 24, 2013 – Despite difficult handling conditions during qualifying as well as during the race, Martin was able to take home a top 25 finish for his No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry team in the Royal Purple 300 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA.

This was your first time racing at Auto Club Speedway, what did you think of the track?
“I thought the track was fun after I got used to it. The seams in the track made navigating and choosing lines difficult because as soon as you drove over one, the car took on completely different handling characteristics” stated Martin. “It was a challenge, but I really enjoyed the difficulty in having to really focus on where the car was on the track at all times.”

Mooresville, NC- March 18, 2013 – After a difficult finish in Bristol, TN last Saturday at Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300, Hal is ready to head back out west to compete in the Royal Purple 300 at Auto Club Speedway. This will be Martin’s first time competing at this venue and he and his No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry team are fired up and ready for the event.

How are you preparing yourself for this upcoming race?
Hal stated “I’ve heard that the key to this track is to carefully navigate your way through the corners without crossing the seams in the racetrack. I’ve never had the opportunity to race on this track so I plan on watching video of previous races and talking with my TriStar Motorsports teammates, as I do before every race. Charlotte, NC- March 16, 2013 – After successfully qualifying in 25th position for Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300 in Bristol, TN. Hal and his crew of the No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry were excited for the race. Hal was able to quickly move forward from 25th position to 19th position during the first part of the 300 lap race.

Half way through the race, Hal was involved in an accident which ended his day early. Although the car sustained significant damage, Martin walked away from the accident unharmed.

This was your first time racing at Bristol Motor Speedway, what did you think of the track?
Martin replied, “I had a lot of fun racing on this track. Bristol Motor Speedway is referred to as ‘the last great colliseum’ and I can definitely see why. This track packs a lot of intensity in its compressed half mile concrete [...]

Charlotte, NC- March 10, 2013 – After an exciting two weeks out west, Hal is all set to be headed to Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend to compete in Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300. The TriStar Motorsports crew of the No. 44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry is making final adjustments to the car to have it ready for Thursday’s departure.

How are you preparing yourself for this upcoming race?
Hal stated “In addition to watching tapes of races from previous seasons and talking to my crew, I plan on picking the brains of my TriStar teammates, Eric McClure and Mike Bliss, as I prepare for this race.”

With the track being so small, there can be a lot of action, what do you expect?

Las Vegas, Nevada- March 9, 2013 – After Friday’s wash-out practice day, Hal Martin and other NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers had a single 45 minute practice session on Saturday in which to learn the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “Without a doubt I had to learn this track quickly. I knew the track conditions were going to change as the weather changed so I made it my goal to learn the track layout – getting through the bumps without sacrificing corner speed was key.”

Hal Martin’s No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry showed promise after starting in 14th position based on 2012 owner points. Both car and driver battled being loose during the event at various times throughout the race. Hal was able to avoid several wrecks and finish the race with an undamaged car and a top 25 finish. Hal is currently in 18th in driver point standings.

Las Vegas, Nevada- March 7, 2013 – After a strong showing in both Daytona and Phoenix, Hal Martin is excited to continue his momentum as he races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Saturday. “I’ve never raced on this track before. Like Phoenix, I’ll have to learn it quickly. I’m confident that my No.44 American Custom Yachts Toyota Camry team and I will have a competitive car this weekend.”
